Hey team, my name is Conor, I'm a dynamic retail executive with over a decade of
experience in leading high-performing teams and driving substantial sales growth within
one of the biggest US-based retail corporations. I started in retail as a part-time gig in high school and worked by way up to the executive level, doing pretty much every job along the way. I moved to New Zealand 18 months ago to be near my family. Since arriving here, I've spent my time developing innovative direct-to-customer sales strategies, smashing commission targets, and
showcasing my leadership as a sales manager. I've got a proven track record of building high-performing teams. I've managed large teams of up to 20 direct reports and 150 indirect reports, always focusing on a shared purpose and collaboration. Ethical practices are at the heart of my leadership style.
Beyond the work world, I'm a fitness enthusiast who loves tackling intense challenges. I have competed in several Iron Man triathlons and Spartan races, and I'm always trying to beat my personal best at the gym. I thrive on pushing my limits and leading by example.
I’m bringing my enthusiasm to a new mission: helping executive teams discover
their “why” and develop strong and resilient workplace cultures where their teams are
empowered and look forward to coming to work.
I’m Robin. I’m American by birth, Kiwi by choice. If you looked at a summary of my
career, you probably wouldn’t believe it. I’m a bit of a hummingbird, having
worked in a wide variety of industries, from Sign Language interpreter to violence
prevention specialist, grant-writer to not-for-profit and
NGO executive and even a karaoke host and mobile DJ. I spent 15 years doing political
strategy, which saw me working as a political delegate lead for Obama for America,
advocating for healthcare and immigration reform in multiple states, managing
campaigns, and developing large-scale public relations and voter outreach plans. For a
time, I served as a regional director for the Democratic National Committee and an
executive director of a state political party.
I have some fancy credentials in management and leadership, which was mostly
because I wanted to understand what sets successful organisations apart from others
that are meh—or just bad.
Despite the broad range of interests and industries, a few threads tie
everything together:
1. I’m entrepreneurial (I’ve turned every job I’ve had into a successful
solopreneurship or small business).
2. I’m always looking for ways to improve. Everything. All the time.
3. I’m an innovator, an early adopter, and sometimes a conscientious disruptor.
4. Winning means putting people first
Since coming to New Zealand, I’ve worked in leadership roles in the health and social
sector. Now, true to form, I’ve struck out on my own and started a company focused on
helping leaders and executive teams turn strategy into operational excellence.
My vision is a community of inspired and inspiring leaders who are deliberate about
creating thriving, successful organisations where people like to work!
